Quick, hassle-free installation

Many people are finding that older conservatories become too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. The good news is that at First Class Windows and Doors we are now offering replacement conservatory roofs in three distinctive styles which is much more cost effective and quicker than replacing the whole conservatory.

If you want a tiled conservatory roof that looks outstanding and provides incredible thermal performance compared to polycarbonate or an old glass conservatory roof then look at an First Class Windows and Doors solid roof conservatory.

We are helping customers across South Wales to help bring their conservatories up to date – and add value to their home – by using the latest in replacement conservatory roof technology.

Do I need planning permission to replace my conservatory roof?

Whether you need planning permission to replace your conservatory roof will depend on what type of roof you are replacing it with. If you are replacing with a glazed roof it is unlikely that you will need planning permission but we will carry out all the checks as part of the process for you. If you are replacing with a solid or tiled roof you may need planning permission, but we can confirm this for you during the design consultation.

Do I need Building Regulations to replace my conservatory roof?

As long as your conservatory still meets the following criteria, you shouldn’t need Building Regulations approval to replace the conservatory roof. 1) Your conservatory must to be separated from the main house with external quality walls and/or windows and doors that meet Building Regulation requirements. 2) Your conservatory will need to have an independent heating system that has separate on/off and temperature controls to the main house’s heating system. As long as your conservatory still meets these requirements after you have replaced the roof, you shouldn’t need Building Regulations approval. However, it’s always a good idea to check with your local building control department.

Are tiled conservatory roofs any good?

Tiled conservatory roofs are very good if you are looking to extend your home and create a thermally efficient room. Tiled conservatory roof extensions can be installed in a fraction of the time that it would take to build an extension using traditional build methods.

Can you have windows in a solid conservatory roof?

Yes you can have windows in a solid conservatory roof. These can be small Velux windows or you can have full length roof windows to flood your conservatory with natural light.

How long does it take to replace a conservatory roof?

Replacing a conservatory roof can usually be done within several days. If you are replacing your conservatory roof with a solid or tiled roof, you will then need to allow for extra time for the interior to be plasterboarded and skimmed.

Do I have to replace the windows when I replace the roof on my conservatory?

You don’t always need to replace the windows and/or doors when you replace a conservatory roof. We will check their strength and advise whether they need to be replaced or upgraded to support the weight of your new conservatory roof.

How much does a replacement conservatory roof cost?

How much a replacement conservatory roof costs depends on the size and style of the roof, as well as whether you choose a glazed, solid or tiled replacement conservatory roof. Your local Ultraframe installer will be able to advise on the best replacement conservatory roof for your project and provide a quote.
